Doing Things Differently
Introduction
I have been wrestling with the idea of throwing myself into the health, wellness, and fitness industry. You see, I don't feel like I belong in it. Although I love and am passionate about health and fitness, I don't approach it the way that most successful coaches and trainers do. And I don't want to. I am worried that I will lose my "fitness integrity" by jumping into this industry. However, God or the Universe has led me to this point, and, for whatever reason, I feel like I am right where I need to be. I need to be writing this first post of many to come.
A Word on Goals
As I mentioned, I want to do things differently than how they have been done. I don't want weight loss to be your goal. I want your goal to be something else. I don't believe in promoting appearance-based goals. To give you a better idea of what type of goals I DO promote, here is a list of examples:
Improving physical health
Improving body satisfaction
Improving mental health
Improving strength
Improving energy
Improving self-awareness
As you may see, these are goals that focus on self-care. Simply losing weight will not improve your life nearly as much as proper self-care. True, exercise and nutritious eating is part of the self-care process which can lead to losing weight, but for change to be lasting, it must also come from within.
My approach to coaching and training is based on this idea. I want to help you make lasting changes that will improve your life.
What to Expect
I will be posting different workouts, as well as different self-care techniques. I want to help in the way that benefits you the most, so if you like something let me know. I am also fairly new at this, so feel free to also give me some critiques. My goal is to post one workout and one self-care post a week. It may take me awhile to get into the habit, so please be patient with me.
I am really excited to work with you and help you on your journey. Thank you for being in my path.
